The Garmin Approach G82 combines a radar launch monitor with a premium GPS golf handheld, so one device covers the driving range, the putting green and the course.

At the range, the built-in radar shows ball speed, club head speed, smash factor, estimated carry and total distance, and swing tempo. On the putting green it measures putting stroke length, tempo, and club and ball speed. Bag mapping has you hit five shots with each club so you know how far you typically hit it.

On the course, the 5" high-resolution color touchscreen shows full-color CourseView maps for more than 43,000 preloaded courses, with distances to the front, middle and back of the green, hazard distances and PlaysLike distances. Paired with the Garmin Golf app, it adds wind speed and direction, live scoring and Virtual Caddie club recommendations. Aerial imagery and green contour data require an active Garmin Golf membership.

Battery life is up to 25 hours in GPS mode and up to 8 hours in radar mode, with an IPX7 water rating. The included radar stand attaches magnetically and rests on a golf ball to position the device for practice, and the built-in magnet holds it to a golf cart.
