Realistic Graphics and Accurate Course Layouts:
One of the best features of EA Sports Road to the Masters is its realistic graphics and accurate course layouts. The courses are modeled after real-life courses such as Augusta National Golf Club, Royal Troon, Pine Valley Country Club, Pebble Beach Golf Links, and more. The graphics are stunningly detailed and capture all of the nuances of each course in high definition. You feel like you’re playing on a real course! Overall there are more than 30 playable courses out of the box. These courses are listed below.

One community feature we would love to see down the road is community built courses where fellow gamers can create and replicate real to life courses using a course forge feature that is already popular amongst the golf simulator world. This is a feature that would open up a whole new world of course options for players keeping the entertainment value extremely high.

Challenging Gameplay & Multiple Modes:
The gameplay in EA Sports Road to the Masters is incredibly challenging and fun. There are multiple game modes including Career Mode where you can compete against AI opponents or play with friends across different tournaments and Online Multiplayer Mode where you can challenge up to 8 players from around the world. Each mode offers its own unique challenges that will keep you coming back for more. In addition EA Sports Road to the Masters also features all four major championships including the U.S. Open Championship, the PGA Championship, Masters Tournament and The Open Championship as well. Other game modes include Social which allows you to play against other gamers with minimal stakes and Challenges which is very similar to "Madden Moments" of games past where you relive key points throughout previous golf seasons and try to match what a particular golfer was able to accomplish in that situation. It is a very fun and entertaining mode which is actually one of my favorites of the game.
Wide Variety of Customization Options:
EA Sports Road to the Masters also offers a wide variety of customization options that let you tailor your gaming experience to your exact preferences. You can choose from different clubs and balls, all from real life equipment manufactures from major companies such as Titleist, Callaway, Ping, Mizuno and more. You can also customize your golfer’s appearance with clothes and accessories from companies such as Nike, Bad Birdie and others or even change your golfer’s skill level if you want an easier or harder challenge depending on what type of gameplay experience you prefer. This level of customization makes every game unique. In regards to keeping gameplay and shot options custom and unique you also have the option to hit multiple shot types based upon the club you select or the situation you are in. One example of this is when you are around the green you have the options to hit flop shots, high flop shots, spinner shots, pitch shots, runners and my overall favorite, the Texas wedge, where you can putt from off the green. This is a part of my actual golf game that I have gotten pretty good at since I never was the best pitcher of the golf ball and the putter was always the safest play for me.

Playable Golfers:
Right out of the gate there is a pretty impressive list of golfers to choose from in regards to playing options. You will notice many of the names from this list. I am also happy to see many names and faces of women golfers that you will also recognize as being some of the best golfers out there. One fact that did surprise me a bit is how many LIV golfers that actually made the cut on this list which is a possible indicator that this golfer list may have been selected a good time ago as I know backing LIV golfers with sponsorships or even on video games with the PGA Tour name is a lightning rod for controversy in today's world, at least at the present moment. Hopefully we will continue to see more names added to this list or have the ability to community create golfers as well where we can get a solid strong list of golfers to keep the entertainment value going for a long time.

Conclusion:
EA Sports Road to the Masters is truly one of a kind when it comes to golf video games. The realistic graphics make it feel like you’re playing on real golf courses while the challenging gameplay keeps things interesting no matter how many times you play it. With its wide variety of customization options, every game feels unique and tailored specifically for each individual player. If you’re looking for an immersive golf experience, then this is definitely worth checking out. A few things we would like to see in the next version would be more community based options similar to the 2k Series where you could possibly immerse yourself around other golfers in a virtual type setting including mini games, stores and more. We would also like to see something similar to a franchise mode where you take your golfer not only through their career but also through things like endorsements, sponsorships and more as you continue to get more and more successful. With the way golf is set up where the golfer is literally their own brand there is a ton of room for creativity here to make a franchise mode very interesting in our book. Overall we were very happy with this version of EA Sports Road to the Masters and we gave the game 4.5 out of 5 on our Garage Golf Golfie Ranking System. With too much to list here, make sure to watch our full video review on the game including 3 holes of actual gameplay for your enjoyment.
